Rebecca Rose spent the months of October, and November planning for and photographing local, Connecticut based entrepreneurs for an exhibit that she is featuring at the State Capitol on Entrepreneurs Day - November 20, 2018.
The exhibit will feature portraits of the entrepreneurs as well as a plaque with each of their biographies and will be displayed at the Capitol until November 30th.
Rebecca is pleased to present the following portraits and biographies of the entrepreneurs featured in this exhibit and is deeply thankful for their participation and support. It is her hope that this exhibit will be an inspiration to others who have dreamed of becoming an entrepreneur. Please come and view the exhibit which is located at the Upper Concourse between the State Capitol and the Legislative Building.

Dr. Tom Dempsey is a graduate of Lafayette College and SUNY Optometry. Upon graduation in 1991, he followed his wife Wendy to Connecticut and began his career in eye care. He joined Eye Care Associates in Prospect, CT as the practice’s pathology and ocular disease specialist. He took over Colchester Eye Care in 1997 and has treasured caring for the wonderful families in the local communities ever since! He expanded his practice in 2006, opening Hebron Eye Care
Dr. Dempsey is one of the most caring people in the world. He puts everyone’s needs before his own. He is the type of doctor that will call and check up on his patients long after the office has been closed not because he has to, but because he is still thinking about them and really cares to know how they are doing. He truly loves his profession and patients.
He is the definition of this exhibit, Entrepreneur with Heart, working endless hours for his family and community .
Deanna Dewey
4d Design & Decorating, LLC
4D design & decorating, LLC is a woman owned Interior Design Firm established in 2014.
Deanna S. Dewey has been practicing Interior Design for twenty-four years in Connecticut. Deanna graduated from Paier College. She is a State of Connecticut registered Interior Designer and NCIDQ certified. Deanna's Studio is located on Park Road in West Hartford. Her portfolio includes municipal work such as libraries, police / public safety facilities and town hall projects. She also has worked on over forty K-12 Schools in the State of CT and Massachusetts. Her favorite spaces to design are Art Classrooms and Maker's Spaces. Deanna and her husband, Steve Dewey (Architect) live in the Park Road Neighborhood of West Hartford. They are very involved with the Park Road Association and they Co-Chair the Beautification Club. This club includes two community clean up walks a year, neighborhood plant / seed swapping and encourages community spirit. In her free time Deanna runs evening craft classes in her studio called 4D Creates. She teaches the classes and offers handmade creative items on her website.
Dorothy Seitz
Hair Magic Salon & Academy
Dorothy Seitz has been a hair stylist for 40 years owning her own salon, Hair Magic. In 1995 Hair Magic bought a building in the Center of a quaint town, Colchester CT. In the Year of 2001 she decided to open a small state of CT approved post-secondary school- Hair Magic Academy. It is a one on one Cosmetology school which is owned and operated by Dorothy. Dorothy was a subcontractor through the Ct Film Bureau to work as a freelancer as a makeup artist and hair Artist for many production / film companies in Ct on advertising with fashion and music groups. She was invited to compete in a Global Extreme Hair- Makeup –Wardrobe- Nails Competition -“Battle of the Strands” and “Global Beauty Master”. She won 2 Years in a row in 2015 -2016 of the Northeast Region NY-Boston-Pennsylvania-New Jersey- Rhode Island. Because of this she was in 2 seasons of extreme reality TV Series. She is truly a Master Hair Artist and has been entering in the most prestigious Contest of the US and Canada & Mexico the last 3 years of North American Hairstyling Awards. She also has investment properties. She truly is a dynamic Entrepreneur with many successes.
Marcia Fournier, PH.D

Marcia is an entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in cancer research and diagnostics industry. Marcia is an immigrant from Brazil. She is mother of three young men and currently lives with her husband in West Hartford, CT. She came to the US to pursue her doctoral studies. Marcia’s work as a postdoctoral fellow at UC Berkeley and doctoral fellow at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute led to seminal scientific publications on cancer diagnostics and liquid biopsy. Marcia is trained in genetics with a Bachelor’s Degree from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
Bioarray Genetics’ mission is to transform cancer treatment decisions and outcomes using gene profiling and machine learning to provide clinically actionable results to clinicians and patients. We believe that every patient should know the likelihood of their cancer response before embarking on a treatment.

PhysioCare Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine, LLC is a family owned and operated physical and occupational therapy office located in Salem, CT. PhysioCare opened its doors in May 2011 with the goal to help individuals achieve their goals with true one-on-one centered care. PhysioCare provides solutions for a wide range of injuries and conditions including; Back and neck, sports injuries, joint pain, arthritis, orthopedic injuries for all ages, post surgical rehabilitation, balance disorders, postural syndromes, delayed milestones, impaired coordination, sensory processing, gait abnormalities, genetic disorders and more.
PhysioCare is the first certified group in the state to offer Blood Flow Restriction Rehabilitation (BFR). PhysioCare also offers school based PT and OT services to surrounding towns and districts.
About the owners: John Bradford, DPT. John graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2001 with a Masters in Physical Therapy. After graduating from UConn he then completed advanced course work in orthopedics at Quinnipiac University and completed a post professional doctorate through EIM Institute of Health. He continues to additional education in orthopedics and recently became the first clinician in the state to be certified in BFR (Blood Flow Restriction).
Lauren Sisk Bradford, MS OTR/L. Lauren began her career by earning her Associates in Science in Occupational Therapy from Manchester Community College in 2009. To achieve her goal of working with pediatrics she pursued her education and received her Masters in Science in Occupational Therapy from New England Institute of Technology (2014) and assisted in the development of the pediatric portion of the business. Lauren currently manages the business, provides pediatric interventions and oversees the therapists providing school based services.

Mark C. D’Addabbo is the president of New England Retail Properties, Inc., a full-service retail development & brokerage firm which specializes in shopping center development, leasing & sales of commercial properties. Founded in 1987, he has guided the firm from a singular brokerage agency into a company with real estate holdings throughout New England and New York. A Villanova University graduate and a former educator, he has worked to help others coming into the business find success believing that education is the cornerstone to our success, hoping that these people will one day have the opportunity to reverse the role and know the joy of helping others.
Stephan Dewey

Stephen R. Dewey is a licensed Architect. He has been in the industry for 25 years and started his own practice, dewright design LLC, in December of 2009.
It started out of necessity, as the economy hit a low point. Rather than moving out of state or finding alternate means of income, he leaped at an opportunity to work on his own. He told himself he would give it a year as he earned some modest income and lived off of savings slated for a kitchen remodel.
In 2014 he married a long-time friend and former colleague, Deanna, who in the same year started her own practice, 4D design & decorating; an Interior Design firm.
He got the new kitchen, along with some other renovations and it prompted a move from his home office to a small space in West Hartford Center.
Today, in his ninth year, he shares space with his wife in a larger office space located in the Park Road Neighborhood of West Hartford. A space within walking distance from their home, in the heart of the neighborhood they volunteer in.
In addition to architecture, Steve enjoys photography and abstract painting. Trips to museums and locations with Music, Art, Architecture and Nature are a common destination.

Kimberly Mattson Moster, of KIMBERLY BOUTIQUE, has loved clothing forever. She graduated from Boston College with a degree in biology and began working in medical sales. But fashion kept calling her, so she went into retail. After 10 years of working for various companies Kimberly could not find her “dream job” so she decided to create one. Kimberly wanted a place where women of all sizes could find pieces that truly fit and flatter - and really enjoy the experience! A place where everyone has a great time; the clients, the staff, and Kimberly herself. Kimberly lives in West Hartford with her husband and two children.

Rebecca Rose Fine Portraits, LLC., has a commitment to capturing the beauty of families that will be cherished for generations. Rebecca Rose born and raised in rural Connecticut studied art from the time she was 12. Throughout high school and college her passion was for art concentrating on painting. After graduating college, she taught art in a private school. After realizing that she had a passion for painting instead of teaching, she began painting murals for many local businesses. Her creative mind and entrepreneurial spirit lead her to picking up a camera. From there it became her new passion instantly. Within 3 years of her business opening she photographed hundreds of people as well as over one hundred weddings and events including the Harvard Business Gala. Since her degree was not in photography she found it of utmost importance to go back to school for photography and earned her diploma in photography from The Photography Institute. Rebecca Rose Fine Portraits was founded in 2017 after finding there was a need of traditional family portraiture displayed as a form of art. The process is a combination of photography and traditional painting through software editing. Rebecca Rose Fine Portraits' purpose is to encourage a deep appreciation of human beauty.
